A gentle introduction to listening, sound awareness, and personal exploration
This beginner-level online course offers a gentle and accessible introduction to sound as an experiential and reflective practice.
Rather than teaching therapeutic techniques or professional applications, the focus is on listening, awareness, and personal experience — exploring how sound is perceived, how it affects attention and felt sense, and how listening can support wellbeing in everyday life.
The course stands alone as an orientation to sound and listening.
It is not a prerequisite for practitioner CPD or professional qualification and there is no pressure to progress into practitioner training.
At the end of the course, participants may request a short tutor check-in session with Tessa Ann for reflection and discussion, should they wish.
This course introduces key ideas and experiences related to sound and listening, including:
An introduction to sound as an experiential and sensory phenomenon
Exploring how different sounds may be perceived and felt
Developing listening skills through awareness and observation
Sound and felt sense, including emotional and energetic associations

The emphasis is on noticing response, rather than learning techniques or outcomes.

"The online coursework is great and I found it very good in helping me to really examine how I use sound and also the different ways it can affect me. Tessa has immense knowledge and shares this in a way that is easy to understand. During the Level 1 practical day she created a safe space in which to learn and to experience; doing this in a relaxing and supportive way. Tessa has a beautiful energy and brings joy to learning. I would highly recommend the course"
